Our solution areas
MSMEs need support to adapt to a rapidly-evolving economic reality such as green and sustainable business practices to get access to new markets and lower the barriers to capital. Based on the needs of MSMEs, the Global Facility works within three solution areas that will enhance MSMEs and incorporate them into future economies. The solution areas are:

Empowering MSMEs with digital capabilities
Supporting MSMEs to get access to tools and information to strengthen their business models and survive and adapt to crisis

Connection to markets
Foster trade facilitation, sustainable public and private procurement, and supply chains

Lowering barriers for accessing capital
Address information deficits between financial institutions and MSMEs
Our guiding principles
Guided by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the UN Global Compact’s Ten Principles, the Global Facility supports MSMEs through a multisectoral, whole-of-government, and whole-of-society approach. With digitalization as an enabler, the Global Facility also seeks to apply the framework of Impact Measurement & Management (IMM) across all the solution areas.
